VES Overhead Display Quality

I have a 2007 Limited with a factory rear overhead VES display (REC head unit). The display is very dim (useless in daylight). Is this normal or is mine bad? Has anyone replaced the monitor with an aftermarket unit?

It is not normal. Have you tried changing the dimness settings on the light stalk ? I don't know if they are linked or not but worth a try.

It is not normal. There is a dimmer on the unit itself, you've probably tried that though.

Thanks guys. I tried the monitor settings (15) and the dimmer on the stalk (which the manual indicates works for the overhead) to no avail. I must have weak display.

see my 2 din car dvd

Maybe you could adjust the screen luminance see whether the screen can be brighter. If not, you need a replacement. I recently replaced my 2 din car dvd. I see that the new one is much more advanced than the old one. see my new 2 din car dvd http://www.justcardvd.com/products/7...%252b-GPS.html
