This looks like good info...Thanks for the post. This may help in getting the rear camera install to work. I have been trying to find a way to add the factory rear camera and use the REC NAV Radio since I have the radio with the 3 pin camera connector. Thanks again!

I emailed costaletech.com, and asked about a group purchase discount. Here's what they said:

This way, there is no need to wait to get a certain number of people together to obtain a discount or have any of the multiple enthusiast communities wrestle with each other trying to get members to order through them to reach a quota. The discount and coastal website registration described on the link will include the REC Lockpick so the REC Lockpick will be discounted by $30.00 when ordered this way. There is also a great deal of information on this site for REC radio owners detailing the applicable radios for the REC Lockpick and factory accessories available.
They said that I could tell all of you about it, and that they would extend the discount to jeepcommander.com members! Hooray!

No more jeeps for me... I get around by bicycle now.

I must be missing something because it looks like I can do all of that right now except the NAV while in motion.

Jon,
If you have the rear camera install from factory, the lockpick will add the ability to turn on the rear camera any time, not just in reverse. Great for monitoring while your towing or in my case, just great to have as a secondary rearview mirror since my rear window visability is so poor with the tire there.

It adds the ability to override the NAV lockout while in motion which is a great feature for the wife to use from the passenger seat while I am driving.

If you do not already have the factory rear DVD system installed, the lockpick adds the VES mode (Video Entertainment System). In this mode, you can add an after market DVD system and even view it right on the screen. Or you can pump an external audio source through here like an iPod. Or you add a second camera like up front as a park assist or a baby cam in the middle row. For me, since I have the factory rear DVD system already, I would use this feature and splice in the video feed from the rear to the front screen to make it easier to know where the kids are with their movie. Biggest design flaw of the rear system is that we pop a DVD in for the kids and take off down the road. They watch all the previews and the DVD gets to the menu and just sits there waiting for someone to select play. Then my wife has to try and see the rear screen from the front passenger seat which is not easy in order to figure out where they are on the DVD and try to select the right option from the menu.
