Center Console Removal

Title speaks for itself. I need to know how to remove the center console in the XK. Has anyone done this before or know how to properly remove it without breaking anything? Thanks in advance.

I think 49r has recently removed his to get some measurements.

That or, CRS strikes again.

Awsome.

Maybe he will chime in then. What was he getting measurements for?

There was a company at the S.E.M.A. show that makes custom fitted lockboxes that go inside the console.
I believe he removed and sent his to them so they could take measurements and create a new product.

He didn't remove it. He had an extra console he sent them.

Wish I could help, If I had my spare I could look at it and help you out. We will need to create a "how too" on this topic anyway so people can add the new gun locker when it is finished.

Been there, done that. PDF stands to be true- every bit as easy as the illustrations. Pop the rear cover off to expose 2 T25 screws (if my memory is correct) and under the rubber cupholder liner (just pull up- it's held in with several rubber tabs along the perimeter) is a 10mm(?) bolt helping hold things in place. Come to think of it, I think the ATC bezel has to be removed to free up the center console, and the dash taken off to free up the ATC bezel (06-07). This is sounding like a Give-A-Mouse-A-Cookie book, but it really doesn't take long to do. Hope this helps. I'll peek at the setup again when I get home tomorrow and double check I didn't miss anything, or include extra steps!

I knew it wouldnt take long to remove it and that it would be hard to do. I just wanted to make sure I didnt break anything cause Im really good at breaking stuff.

So is that trim stick really needed to remove the shift bezel?
