New owner in SE TN

Just bought my wife an 09 Limited. She loves it but it does have a few issues, a random trans shudder, clunking in the front on bumps, broken exhaust studs, and malfunctioning sunroof. It's high miles at 205 but runs well aside the aforementioned issues. Joined to find solutions to my problems. We live just outside Chattanooga TN.
Thanks
Kane

Welcome Kane, I have been driving my 06 4.7 since day one, just turned 149K. Had some issues, but most have been easily fixed. Hope your issues are small. Lots of good advise here.

Me too, I used to like working on cars but I've been having to do a lot of major, and I mean big rebuilds, on all of my vehicles lately that I've been worn down on turning wrenches for enjoyment.

Welcome from another Nooga-in, well 25 miles north.
Trans shudder - change fluids and filters, transfer case fluid? what 4 wheel drive system? QT2 or QD2
Clunking in front - probably sway bar bushings - cheap and easy to change. Might also be front differential bushings if clunk when putting in gear.
Exhaust bolts - Fun to change, probably the 4.7 engine - very common. They have improved bolts at Chrysler.
Sunroof malfunction? More info. Mine is fine but haven't opened it in years
Mine is an 06 with 90K miles.

06 Commander Limited Hemi - QDII,
Past -89 Comanche, 98 Grand Cherokee (2WD), 2000 Cherokee, 05 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7
Had to replace the brakes - they opened more gas stations in town

5.7l here Our transmissions hate everything that isn't atf4 I found out the hard way having put valvoline lv in mine and had to flush the system a few times a mistake I don't recommend with the wrong fluid it would slam when shifting slip and not go into overdrive often

5.7 and QDII, not sure on trim package. It's got more features than I care for.

205K

Gonna leave it 100% stock. Having to do this much work when I first get it, don't want to do any more.

QDII Have all new fluids for it. Changing Xfer case and diffs with Amsoil

Doing diff bushings and sway bar at the same time. Might as well while I have it out for reaching exhaust studs.

Yeah, have one broke off flush with the head which brings in it's own set of challenges, see my post in the general section 5.7 Hemi

Sunroof rolls back about 2 inches and binds but then it's very tricky and tough to get it to roll back forward and seal up.

Luckily, I do have experience with the 545RFE. Had an 06 Liberty CRD for a while. Wish I would've kept it after doing tons of upgrades and maintenance but was buying a house and needed to shed a payment.

Limited is the Trim package MainstreaM.

205,000 miles and still running strong....nice.

Best of luck with your XK.
