I finally found a device which allows aftermarket headunits to send the sound signal to the factory Boston Accoustics amplifier.

This unit should allow me to install my aftermarket HU and still retain use of the factory amplifier.

Unfortunately, the factory amp only accepts 2 channels. The fading between channels is controlled by the data cable between the factory radio and amp. Aftermarket HU's can only send signals to 2 channels.

I'm unsure if this requires running wires to/from the radio and the factory amp in the cargo area.

This device appears to be the only one in existance.

I answered my own questions this evening. I picked this up today at a local shop. $100

Installation was very easy. There is no need to run any extra wires.

I have successfully installed my Kenwood KDC-X990 and I'm using the factory Boston Accoustics amp and speakers. I added the additional module for XM Radio for the Kenwood headunit.

The sound quality is amazing! The Kenwood just brings the stock system alive. I can't begin to explain the difference in sound. A+++++++

I recommend this device for anyone that wants to take advantage of the stock system. I was originally planning upgrading the entire system but It's not necessary. I am more than pleased with the results!!!!!
