Try a salvage yard, or check ebay for broken units that you could buy, take what you need, and re-sell without it.

I know a guy in CA on another forum that has been fixing them for the LX platform for a couple of years. You'd be without your nav for a few days and I'm not sure what he charges, but it can be fixed.

plastic knob is half broken i can super glue it ...but wanted to get another one...i havent pulled the other piece off yet ...is it that difficult ..its just a plastic knob???

didnt they update this design or something part way through the model year of 06 or 07??

I think it looks the same but I heard it is different?

dealer has no clue on knob..just the whole nav unit..

I just looked on EBAY... if you search the REC unit... you will see them advertised with the "Revised Joystick".. or "new style Joystick"

I thought they changed it.. Look for another dealer or maybe the unit is only sold with the new joystick...

I just had my XK in the dealer a few days ago to have the VES installed. The dealer could not get my REC to program correctly with the DD player so they replaced it!

I would think I got the newer design...

How far out of warranty?

but have to solder new one and then use your own knob? joystick works fine..just dang plastic knob broken..

i have looked at lx forum and checked with mr.incredible. his post is for joystick..not plastic knob..thanks guys ... i might have found a place in denver...i ordered the knob.... i will let you know if correct part..

Just received the knob today and it was the correct one...
