CommanderinChief 05-12-2006, 02:38 PM My wife has her cell phone attached to the bluetooth option in the Commander.
It works great. However, certain calls should not be broadcasted over the car speakers for all to hear. Does anyone know how to de-activate the bluetooth in the middle of a call without hanging up on the caller? Thanks,
Llanero 05-12-2006, 07:56 PM Yes. Read the instructions. Page 97 of the owners manual under Advanced Phone Connectivity. Press the voice recognition button and say "transfer call." I have my Treo 650 link up with the UConnect. It is great. If you want a really cool vehicle mount for your phone, PDA or GPS go to http://www.proclipusa.com. They have a mount specific for the Commander and for most cell phones. You don't have to drill holes in your dash. It takes about 5 minutes to install.
CommanderinChief 05-15-2006, 02:35 PM Thanks for your response...I'll tried it tonight.. We have a TREO700 which we use with the bluetooth. And thanks for the Link....
geng77 05-23-2006, 08:40 AM this bluetooth sucks.. everything work fine until you try to make a phone call through your phone and the sound doesn't come out of the speaker until 3 seconds after someone picks up.
Llanero 05-23-2006, 09:02 PM Geng77, you must not have chosen the non-suck UConnect option when you purchased your Commander. It comes standard with the Limited. Mine works great. Read the instructions. It talks about dialing through the phone.
sgilbert 05-24-2006, 08:34 AM The UConnect is NOT standard (or wasn't when I got my Limited). Sure do wish I had it though!

JoeTampa 05-30-2006, 01:37 PM With the PalmOS Treos, you can also just hit the "speakerphone/headset" screen button that shows while making a call. When you are NOT using BT, it's the speakerphone button. When you ARE using BT, it shows a headset. Hit that, and you'll go off BT and onto the normal earpiece. Hit it again, and you're on speakerphone. Not sure about the 700w (with Windows Mobile), though.
Haags 06-02-2006, 11:55 AM I love the blue tooth. My only (minor) complaints are 1.) when I answer an incoming call using the Uconnect button, the microphone does not activate for a couple seconds, so I have to say "hello" several times before the caller hears me. and 2.) When I turn the car off while on the phone, I have to walk ~50 feet from the car before it will disconnect the bluetooth connection - even with the car turned off and locked. Easily resolved by transferring the call to the handset before I get out of the car, but a minor nussance nonetheless.
CommanderinChief 06-02-2006, 12:42 PM LLanero, Thanks for your research and knowledge of the uconnect. The "transfer call" feature works great. You guys need to transfer the calls back to your handset before you turn off your car to avoid the delay. Or as mentioned earlier, use the speakerphone/headset feature on your handset.
I love this Hands-free feature. We are ahead of the game. Most states are going to mandate hands free while driving. It REALLY WORKS..

I have a treo 680 and the sound is really garbled. Has anyone experienced this? I mean, it is so garbled that it is unusable.
RGTWNG 12-21-2007, 07:03 PM There was an update to the Treo 680 today (cingular / att). It fixed my issue and it now works. I still can't use the Razr V3.

My v3 works fine, I have uconnect in both my Commanders, never had a problem with the Razr connecting.

Do you have a 2008 Commander? If so, I think I remember that there is a software update for the UConnect system.

Yes, I do have a 2008. How do I get this software update? The website in the manual is incorrect.
RGTWNG 12-27-2007, 06:24 PM Anyone know where to download updates to the 08 Nav?
