I thought that the can bus system in the 2006 model would not allow mygig? I guess this now allows that to work on the can bus? I would think getting it to fit the dash bezel would be a challenge as well since the 2006 nav radio is so much larger.

I was thinking the same thing since that dashes are different.

I would imagine an aftermarket part would have to come at some point or is already out there.

Good luck with that Ron. I was thinking of going that route but opted to get the LockPic for the REC unit instead.

Does the Mygig, or Lockpic device have sub outputs?

Yes it is a different can Bus, but there adapter has fixed that issue. Also as for fitting a dash bezel i have found a perfect solution, Get a dash bezel out of a 2006-2007 without nav, It has that cutout for the standard radio with the round knobs on the side. That will work perfect, all you have to do is square that out and it will fit perfect, you even get that nice slot to store stuff above it, I ordered that bezel and a mygig to do that myself, i have included a pic to show that it will work. Look at the lines in the pics, it shows you how it lines up perfectly.

Ok, i got my dash bezel in today and my radio, i have made the cuts and it looks awesome, fits perfect. I will take some pictures of the install and upload them soon. As for the Mygig Adapter i have found a few things out about it. It will not work your factory Sirius Antenna, Uconnect, Backup Camera or VES. However i have found some work arounds.

To make the Sirius Work, all your need is to buy the 2008 Sirius install kit Part number: 82210940AB MSRP $154.00

to Make the Backup Camera work, just just need to do a little wiring, You take your 3 wire plug for the parkview and wire it to the C3 connectors on the back of the mygig.

Pin 1 to Pin 4 on Mygig C3
Pin 2 to Pin 3 on Mygig C3
Pin 3 to Pin 5 on Mygig C3

Now as for the Uconnect and current work around is to get the external mic

But i am working on a method to use your factory Uconnect mirror, ill update you on that.

Now as for the factory VES, it will still work alone but i do not have a method to integrate it with a Mygig, ill let you know if i find anything different

Is it true on an 07 commander when adding the mygig w/o nav that the clock on the radio does not work? I also read even with the installed lockpick, the uconnect on the radio installed does not work? I was thinking about adding a non-navigation REN radio using the lockpick and cutting the dash as described. Just trying to understand what the side effects would be.

Correct the actual timing function for the clock is on a module in the Commander itself and NOT in the radio, the radio just dispalys it (go figure)

Depending on the year of the vehicle you will need the lockpick adpater but essentially you are correct.

Also be aware that there are two versions of MyGiG, Fast Bus and Slow for the Jeeps you will need the Slow version they are not interchangeable.
