I have the navigation system in my Commandor. But I would like to remove it and put in my Kenwood 8017 head unit which has a DVD player and Nav. I have a few questions though.
1) Will my u-connect work with the kenwood unit?
2) Where can I get another dash cover because the stock nav system is much bigger than the kenwood?
3) Where can I get a Kenwood-Jeep harness?

1.) Doubtful. U-Connect is a DCX product and I doubt they have included too much interoperability with non DCX audio components.

2.) You will need to order the smaller bezel (that goes on non-navigation equipped XKs) and then get this: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-6GrMZhSn35D/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=142CR1286B

Does anyone know how to remove the dash on the Commander? Are there any screws or is just a bunch of clips? Any tricks to get it off

You know I think I read around here somewhere that you must remove all of the stainless allen bolts staring you in the face.

As above, all of the allen heads in the dash are real, functional screws. After you pull them the bezel around the radio can be snapped out. -What are you doing with the factory nav system?-
