Hey guys & girls...

This is my first post here. I look forward to getting to know some of you and meeting you in the next few months. I'm an active member on both Acurazine and MX5.net with more than 10,000k posts between the two. Currently, I have a 2008 MX5 that is modded to the gills and plan for the Commander to get underway as soon as we get it!

I've loved the Commanders ever since they came out, and the time has come where my wife and I are wanting an SUV. When I showed her the Commander she was sold.

We are wanting to purchase a Limited with the 5.7 and all the goodies. I know that in 2009 the Hemi was upgraded among a few other minor things. Is the power upgrade and "added fuel economy" a deal breaker? We aren't buying the truck for its gas mileage, thats a joke...but if the engine is that much better, I'd like to stick it out and wait for an 09-10 to roll our way. Any other issues I should know about besides the over-temp issue, sun roof drains, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

According to Hypertech's dyno graphs that I viewed for their product (includes stock numbers), the 09 Hemi (340 HP) has considerably more HP and torque than the 08 (227 HP). The 07 and up 4.7 also has a decent amount of HP (242 HP) than the 06 one (185 HP). The 09 Hemi in our Aspen is quite powerful, and I love the feel when I get on it, so I'd go for that if the difference is truly as significant as those numbers make it out to be.

I know my 5.7 has more power than that original post even if it is an 06. The other numbers seem correct

Well, we got her home. Beautifully driving vehicle, we love it! I can't wait to get it to Ouray and play with the "big boys." Its got a couple of dents that I'm going to get taken care of first and then on the list starts with a lift. We were under the assumption that the color was Bright Silver, but upon getting to Houston figured out it was Greystone. We liked it and the deal was sweet enough to where we just jumped on it.

2008 Overland in Light Greystone Pearl w/38k Miles for $22k.

Enjoy.

Im pretty sure it's just the badges, wood wheel and suede inserts in the seats. I know the 2010's lost the power lift gate feature present on the 08-09 models, but I'm thinking thats the only thing this one might have over your 2010, even though that wasn't Overland specific.

...and thanks for the compliments guys. I have been enjoying it thoroughly the past day.:banger:
