I just bought 2006 limited 5.7L. I want to get it lifted but to much cash for now. What are the largest all terrains i can put on it w/no lift. Any other recommendations to make it more awesome welcome. I want a grill guard that covers the whole front end instead of just grill and headlights.
245/75R17, 255/75R17 or 265/70R17 will fit with monor rubbing and an all terrain i would prefer would be Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs, they are an agressive all terrain tire and will perform outstanding
Those sizes won't fit without a lift. And you will still have slight rubbing until the pinch weld mod is done and the plastic inner fender well liner is heated up and pushed towards the rear.
I have a 2006 XK with the 4.7 and I have 245/75/17 GY Duratracs and they fit with almost no rubbing. only time is at full turn going over a bump. I have a 2" RC lift I will be installing this wknd.
I put mastercraft 255 70 17 on my stock commander only had to cut excess threads off upper ball joint. only normal highway and city driving so far no rubbing not much off roading yet but will be ok till I put in lift
I'm very curious with this subject as well. I will be putting the 3/8 spacer from Rocky Road Outfitters on the front end and getting some new wheels. I was thinking with the spacer and correct offset wheels I would be able to get 255/70s. Am I thinking correctly or can I go larger. Also by doing the pinch weld mod and the "thermal remolding" of the inner fender how much more room can I gain?
