Gentlemen:

Looking at a 2006 Commander 4x4 with the 4.7. I noticed in the carfax it stated 6 months after purchase the "Engine/powertrain computer/module reprogrammed" was "reprogrammed"
Is this a basic service item on these vehicles? I have done alittle research and noticed a stalling problem on some vehicles. Is the stalling issue related to the module reprogramming? Is it something i should be concerned about?
Any worries about a Commander with 110,000 miles. Seems to be in nice shape. Its a one owner so it can't be all bad.
Thanks for any info you'd care to share.

I wouldn't be concerned about the reprogramming as there were some TSBs for reprogramming to correct or improve performance.

I got my 2006 in the early summer this year. There were a bunch of recalls on it. They were all related to software flashing and "reprogramming".

Definitely nothing to be concerned about. The only ones who can do a "reprogramming" of the vehicles computers are authorized jeep dealers as far as I know, so I wouldnt worry about it at all... Good luck.
