We have 43k on our 2008, 4.7 V8 xk. Just replaced the OEM Fortera's w. Falken Rocky Mountain AT's. No major problems so far.....just regular maintenance. The wife and kids love it. Easy to pick out of a crowd of "look a like" SUV's. Plenty of power. MPG's a little low (15 mpg combined). A much better step up from my old '98 Explorer!
we bought our 08 as a family hauler as well and the wife and I love this thing. gas mileage is bad though, but we knew that getting it. we do not use it to commute daily.
We've had our 2010 Commander for 3 weeks now and have put just over 3K trouble -free miles on it. We have the 3.7L and are averaging 16-17 in the city and 19-21 on the highway. We love this Jeep!

My 07 4.7L has 78,000 miles and has not once been in for major service. I feel it's still running strong and probably won't ever need major service....knock on wood.
I'm happy with my 07 Commander with 4.7 V8. It's true the power went up in 08, but you also have 8 more spark plugs for a total of 16. Too much to worry about something going wrong. My Jeep has towed my 6,000 lb. travel trailer with no problem. I replaced a water pump at about 60k miles and had a problem with the heated seats in the beginning where they had to replace a module on the warranty. Gas mileage isn't great, but vehicle is comfortable and the QII is extremely capable.

My 2010 with 11K .... so far so good.... no major problems....
I'm thinking FRNTHVY (who started this Thread in April 2011) may not have gotten a Commander, as this was his only post on this forum under that name..

I have an 06 V8 limited and I love it, I didn't buy it for gas mileage, but when it comes to carry 4 kids, groceries, camping, muddin, or putting cartoons in the DVD player on long drives.... It's better than a mini van and I love it.
