Indash computer problems

my 2007 jeep commander indash computer is unable to cycle thru the functions. it will not let me change any of the settings and the key buttons on the computer are not responsive. i can cycle thru the mpg, trip odometer, miles till empty but i can not cycle thru to my temperature/ compass. I also can not rest the trip or repair menu without unplugging the battery. any thought? thanks for any and all suggestions.

It happened to me on my 2006 Limited... Fortunately, the dealership still owned the vehicle and I noted it on my test-drive...

Ultimately, the dealership had to replace the unit (said it was plug and play) and completed it in less then a day.
