It doesn't get to 500 degrees inside the housing. You're fine with any generic spray paint to paint your headlights. I've had good luck with Rustoleum Satin Black in my MX5.
As far as plastidip, I wouldn't do it. Because it peels off very easily, and pulling apart the lights...isn't so easy, I'd not want to go through the hassle of tearing the lights apart to touch up the plastidip.
