Front end BANG (Not a clunk)...

So something has gone craptastically wrong with my front end, and I'm not sure what it is. It's not the normal clunks from worn out bushings, this is a major BANG that happens whenever I am turning sharply. It doesn't really seem to come from one side or the other, though. If I am turning right into my driveway, up a 3 inch riser (rain water), then BANG. Then I straighten out my wheel, drive about 20 feet and BANG again. Feels like I am gonna puke Jeep guys all over the road at any moment. Another wierd sympton could be that if I am braking rather hard, and the front end is diving, then it will BANG again and my steering will shift a bit to the left. WEIRD. Anywho, it's off the road until I can figure it out, so I thought I'd start here.

Anyone else have this happen? I really want to avoid having to put cameras under my front end or risk being run over by my wife trying to look up underneath as she drives.

...oh, and my first thought is maybe my rack & pinion might be going bad. Any other thoughts?

Could be a combination of the front drive axles (if it's 4x4), or/as well, worn struts. Another thing to check are the control arm bushings as well.

CV joint dieing/dead on one of the front shafts would cause problems like yours.
