nice write up..about to do mine...do u have torque spec for front drive shaft and all mounts?

Just replace the mounts on my 08 commander with 5.7. Much easier than i expected.
Ordered all three mounts from,, www.justforjeeps.com . I knew the top was the problem and thought the other two were ok. The side one was but the front was cracked.
Top bolt is in a tight location, need plenty of extortions and swivel joint, and a back up wrench on nut. Drive shaft was easy with 1/4 inch drive and two long extensions, did not have to rotate shaft to get all the bots out. Ball joint press was a mess trying to make it work, but it did. I think the air chisel with a flat end would put the bushing is fine, but I did not have one.

Sad to report this... it's been 10 months and 12,000 miles and I need another new bushing.
No, not kidding.
I was under the pig doing an oil change today and saw the rubber is starting to get chewed up again. I'm hearing a slight bang in/out of park so I knew it was starting to go again. I got the bushing at Morris so I'm not certain who makes it or if they're a reputable manufacturer but it's failing in a very short amount of time. Maybe the OEM bushing would have been a better option than the aftermarket from Morris but I think it's time to go to a Johnny Joint and be done with it. Hope you're replacements are going to last longer than mine.

This is an excellent thread and was extreamly helpful. I do have one question were did you get your part? Is there a part number? I have been having difficulty finding the right bushing.

Ya know I bet the OEM isolator bushing would be fine. Not happy with the aftermarket one and I have a new OEM one sitting on my desk waiting to be installed but I've been lazy! If u go with the original style just get it from the dealer.

When I'm back at my computer I'll dig out the email I got from Currie regarding the JJoint. They weren't 100% certain it would fit our application so we would be blazing a trail. Stay tuned!

OK I found the email. I asked if Currie part # CE-9112M would be my part and they couldn't confirm or deny it. It's "LOOKS" like it would work but you'd be the first. If you do, and it works, report back to them. ;-)
The Currie rep said you press it in and then weld the sleeve in place.
