I know I don't post on here often, but I do follow along on the site.
I have a 2006 Jeep Commander Limited, with the Hemi.
I have 84,000 miles on it. The warranty is way over.
The motor blew last week. I have followed, and done every service the manufacturer recommended, and at their intervals. I also changed the oil one thousand miles early, at almost every oil change.
Long story short, the timing chain "jumped" and caused a great deal of internal damage. I'm not a mechanic, but the dealer said it damaged valves, pistons, push rods, springs, and a few other things.
I was shocked that on such a well-maintained vehicle, the engine would basically destroy itself.
The good news, apart from the $600.00 I was charged, Jeep picked up the tab.
