driving/off road lights w/o bar?

forgive me if this has been covered somewhere already, but i haven't found anything yet...

i'd like to add a pair of off-road/driving lights to the front of my jeep, right in front of the grille. but i don't want to add a push bar, bull bar, or brush guard. i've seen pics of other members' XKs with lights mounted directly on the bumper (unless they have a super low-profile light bar). does anyone have a tutorial on how to do this? also what's the quality of the light when mounted like this, is there alot of vibration?
