I am looking into replacing the Fusion tires on my Jeep.. I'm not looking for anything with deep tread, just a good all around quite tire on the highway that is also good in the snow..

Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor.

I used to have them and was very happy with them. They will serve you well in Maine. They are an All Terrain tread. IMO a good All Season tire is the Goodyear Assurance.

Ditto, I live in the mountains, go wheeling, and drive all over the country to balloon rally's. Good Year Silent Armor 265/70/17 I believe. NOT CHEAP (cost or quality).

How about the Fortella by Goodyear? The silent armor's look pretty aggresive..

There are lots of good highway tires. You might want to read some reviews on TireRack.com or DiscountTire.com. I'm not sure how much feedback you'll get on this site concerning those kinds of tires. Most members here are enthusiasts who like to use their Jeeps for offroading. Maybe someone who just tows a boat or trailer may have an opinion on what you're looking for. But don't be discouraged from asking questions.

The Forteras come stock on the XK and are a decent on-road tire. I mentioned the Assurance because I had them on an old Subaru Outback, and they did very well on both wet and snowy/icy roads. They are pricey, though. You get what you pay for.

Ya, I don't go off roading at all with my commander.. I have an ATV for that purpose.. I'll have a look at my local tire place to see the tread on different tires up close.. Thanks for all the input..

The Goodyear SA Do look aggressive but sound pretty quiet. I was shocked. I mean, you know they are there but infinitely quieter that I expected.

Right. ...and they are snowflake rated for those nasty Maine winters!
