Ordered my superlift kit today.

I am finally taking off my rc 2" lift and installing the superlift kit. Bought the k864 master kit. This should have everything but a good set of aftermarket UCA's. If anyone has any suggestions, has seen any issues or figured any shortcuts out when you installed yours. Please post and let me know. This looks like a fairly comprehensive install. But am ready to take it head on. I am hoping the ride is much better than my old lift??

TY

I thought about it when the talk was that Superlift is going out of business but canot justify the $2,000 for 2" more lift at this time. Maybe sometime soon.

I was getting tired of the rc lift. Its rough I dont get a lot of articulation. I picked up the master kit, which includes the egr for 1800 to the door. Thats a lot less than what they wanted 2 years ago. Hopefully I get what i want out of this kit.

I've had my SL setup for over 50,000 miles and I love it. My jeep rides better than my wife's '08 Overland (she has a BDS 2" kit) but I had new coils made for the front which are softer than stock. Even until then, I never had a problem with the ride. Your articulation will improve because you'll get back some of the downward travel in the front. Also, your uca's will be back to about the stock angle, you may not have a need for aftermarket uca's. I'm still running the stockers, though they wear out more quickly with a disconnected front sway bar. I don't think you'll regret doing this at all - let us know how the install goes!

Also - there have now been quite a few guys who have installed the 4"SL kit and I've not heard a single "I wish I hadn't done this to my jeep!" comment. I've never even heard of anyone complaining about the price once it's been installed and they use it. So I'd say it's not cheap, but it's worth it!

I would recommend JBA or rocky road UCA's with that lift. SL uses a 4" spacer up front so I don't see how that improves anything like the ride or down travel. OME makes longer struts and JBA and King makes coil overs for the front.

Jeepinbyal Upper control arms were not ment to be used with the superlift kit.. I have the superlift installed with the jeepinbyal upper control arms and I've been having some problems. One of the problems i'm having is similar to what 07JeepXK is having with the knuckle making contact with the springs as well as when I turn the knuckle is making contact with lower spring isolator, and has torn it to shreds. I spoke with the guys at jeepinbyal, and they mentioned the upper control arms were not intended to be used with the superlift kit, but thats not saying you cant use them. Now they would work if you would add additional lift ie: 6" or so.

What is the difference in length between a stock strut and an OME strut? I'm running bilestein factory replacement struts now, i'm always looking to upgrade.

Again on the superlift, I love mine. I havn't had a problems with my kit at all. The only thing I would recommend is pay close attention to the type/style wheel you choose with the correct back spacing. If you get something with to great of back spacing, your going to be rubbing every time you turn.

Thanks everyone. I probably won't install it until the middle of may. I have a week off and am probably going to change balljoints and whatever looks worn. I do have 90000 on the jeep. I do have one question for all of you that installed this lift before. Is it necessary to completely remove the front diff in order to do the job. The fluids do need to be changed.

The front differential does need to come out of the Jeep. Not only do you need to install the drop down brackets for the front differential, but modification of the rear crossmember needs to be done for front drive shaft clearance. I hope you have a welder or know someone that can weld for you.
