Alright being my first time posting on this forum i could use some help. I own a stock 2006 commander limited with the 4.7L. i have done no mods to it yet but i am looking to buy new tires. i believe i am currently running stock 245/70/r17's. i want to step up to 255/70 or 75/r17 wrangler SilentArmors but am not sure if they will rub. any sugestions or other options will greatly help me decide. i am planning on modding my jeep in the future but for now i am keeping it stock.

I would start out by checking the side of your tire to confirm what size you are currently runny. The stock tire size for the commander is 245/65R17. So if you are already running a larger tire size, and don't have a lift, then you will really need to put a lift on to go with anything bigger.

The stock tire size is 245/65R17 (unless it came with an 18" wheel from the factory).

Just get the two inch lift asap! I always assumed a lift would cost more than what it did but when I found out I could get the Rough Country for less than $200 I jumped on it. Of course it needs to be installed.
I replaced my stock tires with silent armors then with less then a year on them put on my lift and got bigger tires. If you can do the lift right away when you are considering mods anyway don't put it off. This question about tires comes up a lot and good tires last a long time. So mod now and go big or wait 5 years until next time those tires need to be replaced
