130k miles, maintenance not needed?

I went and got my oil changed and wheels aligned today at NTB. I specifically asked about my suspension popping/clunking/squeaking when going over bumps, etc. They checked it out for me as part of the inspection and said that everything was fine, including the sway bar bushings. They told me all the parts were the original (shocks/struts, etc.) and didn't have problems (not leaking, joints were good, and moved things around to show me they were fine). How is this possible at 130k miles? Multiple mechanics told me the same thing there, so I'm not sure if they're full of it or not. But if I did need it, I'm sure they would've tried to sell me their services considering they tried charging me $500 for a front brake job...

I would say you need to go to a place that knows your Commander.. NTB works on all kinds of vehicles and they don't know much about specific ones.. I had a clunking in my frontend and I took it to the dealer, the tech took a ride with me and told me what the problem was within 15 seconds of driving out of the dealership.. Tire and battery shops are just that IMO..

I was told my sway bar bushings were fine by 2 different places. I had them changed at the dealer and my popping went away. Also I didn't think my lower ball joint was bad until I took it apart. Just trying to move and shake the front end of our trucks with your hands isn't enough force to prove that anything is bad. Unless it is really bad or visible.

If you have 130,000 miles on the stock struts and shocks then they need to be replaced. Trust me the are shot!
