REC Navigation user's manual available / 4 MB PDF file

Hi everyone.

A few times in the past there have been some members asking about instructions for the REC radio/nav unit because they didn't have the manual. I know that when purchasing a used vehicle you frequently don't get all the manuals that were originally there. It's great that the XK owner's manual can be downloaded directly from the Jeep website, but why they don't have the navi manuals there is beyond me.

Anyway, I scanned my REC user's manual into a 4 MB PDF file. It's not perfect, but readable, and I think better than nothing. If anyone would like a copy, send me a PM with an email address where to send it.

Cheers!

EDIT 13 Dec 2010:

A fellow member was good enough to point out later in this thread that there is a site where you may download the manual directly. To all those in need, I thought I'd post the link up front since few will read through the entire thread.

http://www.wkjeeps.com/manuals/REC-OwnersManual.pdf

Enjoy!

Well, in the past month I have had about 4 requests for this manual. I think 3 out of 4 of those were for people with 0 post counts. While I don't mind helping out a fellow jeeper, it would certainly be nice for the new guys to introduce themselves since they already went through the trouble of registering so they can PM me. So to all those who got off at this exit from the Google highway, why not stay a bit? You can get more out of it than just an owner's manual.

I just got my 2006 Commander and purchased the Factory Navigation unit from my friend's neighbor as he had an 06 commander that he just sold. My Jeep didn't come with a manual so it would be great to have a manual for the Nav unit.
My email is p_altieri@yahoo.com.

Thanks so much.

We could really use your help with the 06' NAV Manual...bought our 06' TR Commander (35K miles, pristine!) last month after being hit from behind and totalling a TOY Highlander. What a difference! My handicapped wife no longer afraid of the front seat.
We can be found at jgsarvis@charter.net or jeff.sarvis@fluor.com
Thank you for your consideration and generosity. We look forward to the PDF...we've tried to decipher the NAV but the previous owner left a lot of debris which we need to strip.
Thank you again!!! Happy Jeeping!

Could you please send a copy to rushharvey@gmail.com? My 06 XK did not come with a NAV manual either. Thanks!

The most recent requests for manuals have been sent!

I still have hopes that some of you who have found this forum by searching for a REC manual on Google will decide to hang around and contribute sometimes. I receive PMs from people who have 0 posts (that's zero posts!) just to get a manual. While I don't make post counts a requirement, it would just be nice if some folks decided to at least introduce themselves.

BTW, I have also received 2 PMs from guys requesting manuals, but they didn't provide any email addresses. C'mon...!
