Factory NAV versus Aftermarket

What are your guys' opinion on purchasing an aftermarket navi versus the factory MyGig navi system. People with experience using the MyGig system...how is it (response time, user friendly, etc). Financially it seems the factory system will command more money but I assume a less complex installation. I can get an aftermarket Clarion system for an affordable 600$ but I am predicting a more complex install plus a few more accessories to complete the install, thus increasing the cost (Bezel kit, brackets, etc). Thanks. The vehicle is a 2008 Jeep Commander Sport 4x4.

While I haven't utilized the Jeep system, I've always used Eclipse's AVN systems and they are perfect.

I have one to put in my XK, but I dont want to lose my factory backup

I was wondering the same thing. I can find Full systems for a 1/4 of the price the manufactured one cost. But I dont want it to look stupid.
