dash computer problems - HID?

I have a 2009 3.7l commander
I recently installed two HID kits (fogs and low beams) and yesterday all my lights started to light and turn off, my compass doesnt work too, my flashers doesnt work, and finally my stereo controls on my steering dont work well too....
my truck is still on the manufacturer's guarantee but i know the dealer is gonna tell me that is has somethin to do with my HIDs...
does anyone know what could cause that problem?

Did you try uninstalling the HIDs? I'm having some issues with my 2010 Commander. We've only had it for 3 weeks and last week I installed HIDs in the lows with no problem. Today I installed HIDs in the fogs and everything worked fine. On the way home, I stopped to buy gas and when I started the car the lows wouldn't light up, but the fogs still worked.

I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow morning to try to figure out what's going on.

I tried installing my HID's to my fog light connections and they wouldn't work. I had to run a seperate wiring harness to get them to work.

Anyone use relays, or are the HID kits plugged straight into the XKs wiring?

I had to use a relay for the low beams but the fogs were fine by themselves.
O issue I rem into with my kit was that everything worked fine but then the lights would stay on after I turned off the truck. This only happened when there was still something else on like Hazzards or something. I took it to where I bought the kit and the guy cut off the compacitor part of the relay and everything worked fine. I have had the same side bulb go off colour twice in 18 months though so something is funky.
Oh and the kit I bought, I had to cut off the plugs and flip them around...

I took a look at my lights this morning. They turned on and stayed lit no problem, but when I turned them off, they flickered for a few seconds and then wouldn't turn on again. The thing that gets me is I have anti-flicker capacitors on both ballasts.

I went back to the halogens and ordered a relay harness. Hopefully I can fix the problem this way.

Got a relay harness and installed it along with the anti-flicker capacitor on the driver-side (the passenger-side factory plug is left unplugged when using a relay harness.) Everything works fine now.

The wire for the backup lights was cutted, so it seems that it affected all the electronics....

Cool HID anti-flicker capacitor

How well does the anti-flicker capacitor work on the '06 Commander with HID's. I have been having the same issue with the lights only working for a few minutes, then just shut off. I put the OEM bulbs back in and all is working fine. If the anti-flicker capacitor work well, then I'll be ordering them. Anyone with feed back, I'd greatly appreciate it.
