Help: Amp Placement

I have a kenwood amp that I need to mount somewhere. I don't want it on the sub box because I want to quickly be able to unplug it to make room for other stuff/back row seat. And I don't want in on the back of a seat because it can get damaged when I pack the trunk. One idea I had is the panel to the left or right of the back row seat. On the left side you can remove the cup holder and see down in there but there is not enough room on that side. I think the right side will have enough room I just don't know how to remove that paneling. I know some obvious stuff that needs removed but I can't find everything. Has anyone done this or know how to? Do you think a normal size amp can fit in there? Thanks.

Mine has the amp under the middle seats (stock install). Fold the seats up and there are panels held in by heavy Velcro.

Actually, the amp in a Commander Limited (which you have) is located behind the driver's side panel in the cargo area. None of those boxes under the second row seats is the amp.

I was able to peer into the passenger side cargo panel and there is no room in there either. I think the stock amp is much smaller for speakers and not as big as my sub amp.

It is 13Lx11.5Wx2.75H. I think I will end up mounting it on the 2nd row middle seat, which is not ideal. I am up for other ideas.

Can someone post a pic of the stock amp in the location?

Bauer - make sure you have enough air flow to prevent the amp from overheating. I stuffed my amp under the passenger seat. It's manual so I didn't have to worry about motors and wiring for the electric seat. There is plenty of room there with the manual seat, not sure about the electric tho. I have same purpose as you. I have heavy velcro on the bottom of my sub box that keeps it from tipping under normal (and heavy) driving. Also am connected with a bananna plug....when I need to use the space, I just unplug, pull the box and tuck the wire away. Leave yourself enough wire to play with different box orientations.

I ended up putting the amp on the box with rubber spacers to reduce rattling on the amp. I don't think it would fit under a seat, but my smaller MB Quart front speaker amp might which I haven't installed yet. strokeZ: Did you take the seat out to mount it?
