power outlets off with key

Does anyone know which wire in the dash is responsible for keeping certain items on, such as the radio, once the key is turned off before you exit the vehicle? I want to re-wire the two power outlets in the center dash to turn off when I exit, thus preventing my wife or me from leaving something plugged in and on while were away for a few days and returning to a dead battery(hypothetically of course) I have my dash apart and my multimeter but I get 12+ on the radios supply reguardless of koff door closed or koff door open.

hook the left one to the right one since the left one is already switched.

sounds like a good idea but i forgot to menton I run my ipod off the outlet and when it looses power it pauses. the radio stays on with the key off till you open the door. id like to maintain that duration of power use untill I exit the vehicle.

I believe that outlet does too. it remain on until you open the door.

There's a fuse under the hood specifically for the ACC delay, but it also runs the power seats and locks, so if you use it for a relay trigger any time you move your seat or blip your locks your circuit will power. Maybe you could use the radio as a trigger for the left socket?

Then Ill have to find which wire is on the acc delay for the radio...a diagram would be nice..lol

When you open the boxes behind the battery they have diagrams.
I dont understand them because they are not necesarily right.

REMOVAL






1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Pull the cigar lighter knob and element (1) out of the cigar lighter receptacle base (6), or unsnap the protective cap from the power outlet receptacle base (6).
3. Look inside the cigar lighter or power outlet receptacle base and note the position of the rectangular retaining bosses (3) of the mount that secures the receptacle base to the panel (4).
4. Insert a pair of external snap ring pliers (5) into the cigar lighter or power outlet receptacle base and engage the tips of the pliers with the retaining bosses of the mount.
5. Squeeze the pliers to disengage the mount retaining bosses from the receptacle base and, using a gentle rocking motion, pull the pliers and the receptacle base out of the mount.
6. Pull the receptacle base away from the instrument panel far enough to access the instrument panel wire harness connector (2).
7. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector (2) from the cigar lighter or power outlet receptacle base (6).
8. Remove the cigar lighter or power outlet mount from the instrument panel.

well the diagram is a information page describing how to read a wire schematic. lol Ill just use the feed wire off the fuse and my multimeter to figure it out lol
