You wil need the MyGIG unit (they ain't cheap), a Lockpick unit from Coastaletech ( http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG_ADAPTER.htm), and a bezel(the MyGIG is smaller than the REC). You can find answers to most of your questions if you use the Forum search feature.

Yes MyGig is a RER or REN unit.

Aux port would work but bluetooth would need additional parts to work.

Seems like a pain to me, you'd probably need:

MyGig
Lockpick
Install Bezel
AM/FM Antenna Adapter
SIRIUS Antenna Adapter
Microphone (For Bluetooth)

And it may not work with the VES, or at least it wouldn't without some extra wiring.

You'll know it's low speed either by the part number, or by the seller listing it as low speed.

Since he has an REC unit he already has a microphone. It is located in the rear view mirror.

Just because he has a REC Navigation system doesn't mean he has UConnect. If he does have UConnect it's my understanding that using that microphone isn't plug and play with the MyGig unit.

If it already has Uconnect (bluetooth) it will still work with the Lockpick. http://www.coastaletech.com/media/MYGIG_ADAPTER_INSTRUCTIONS.pdf

jeep5253 i really appreciate your help.

im wondering if aftermarket wouldnt be easier? i have done aftermarket installs in the past vehicles with no issues.

i searched and found the guy that installed his kenwood double din nav unit but there are no details for the wiring harness used (part numbers). i see he used PAC, i have used scoche in the past.

at least i have the stock nav....which i assume is double din so i wont need another bezel.

are there any other commander aftermarket nav unit install writeups? im just worried ill get a wiring harness thats not compatible? will an aftermaket nav work with the boston acoustics system ? assuming it has amps
