Can I get the AUX IN to stay on when I start the engine

Whenever I start my Jeep the radio, REF I think, defaults to the CD or AM/FM instead of the AUX IN I was using prior to turning off the Jeep. Is there a way to get it to stay in AUX IN mode?

Is the cable still connect to the head unit and device. If so is the device power still on and providing input?

Not that I"m aware of. I've got the same problem. Mine always defaults back to AM/FM.

Yes it is.

On a side note what is the audio system in these things, it is better than the aftermarket stereo in my Liberty.

I didn't see anything labeled BOSE in the Jeep but it does sound like it could be something that high end. How good is the standard system?

It works for me. This is the only vehicle I've owned that I haven't modded the stereo system in.

Operation Instructions - Auxiliary Mode
The auxiliary (AUX) jack is an audio input jack, which
allows the user to plug in a portable device such as an
MP3 player, cassette player, or microphone and utilize
the vehicle’s audio system to amplify the source and play
through the vehicle speakers.
The auxiliary mode becomes active when an electrical
device is plugged into the AUX jack using a standard 3.5
mm stereo audio cable and the user presses and releases
the MODE button until AUX appears on the display.
NOTE: The radio will return to the last stored mode if
the ignition switch is turned from the OFF/LOCK position
to the ACC position, the radio is turned on, and the
radio was previously in the AUX mode.
