Nav won't route?

On my way home from Ohio today I had the nav "Guide Me Home". For the first 200 miles or so it worked fine but when I stopped for fuel it quite navigating when I restarted the Jeep, no info at all, but the map is working fine. I pulled off the highway to set it again and when it "plans the route", it will "think", but it never plans the route, the "thinking" bar just bounces left to right. I eventually just hit "stop routing" (which i had to do several times) and made my way home by memory. The nav screen tracked me just fine but it would not route. The radio and back-up cam are also working right.

Any suggestions as to what I need to do to get the nav working again?

09 Hemi Limited Commander w/nav and back up cam

Thanks! Cool website too!

Another question; Will these same updates work with my 08 Wrangler with the MyGiG nav radio. Its basically the same as the one in my XK just does not have the back-up cam. We have never updated the nav in the JK since we bought it new in 11/07

I would guess there have been several updates since then for it.

Yes it will work with all rer nav. On that website there are other downloads for other versions ren/rep/rez/rew/.... Yours. if it is the US nav unit its the rer. Good luck. Your local dealer can update for you if you dont want to do it yourself. I dont know if the would charge you for it. I also hear some dealers dont always have the latest updates.

I feel like a complete computer dumb a$$ but I can not get the files to burn to a disc even following the directions on the website. I do not have Nero Express so that could be the problem but something is just not working properly.

I made a few with Ashampoo burning studio free. http://download.cnet.com/Ashampoo-Bu...-10776287.html
Let me know if you have still have a problem. You have to use a cd for the software update and a dvd for the gracenotes.

click on burn files and folders
create a new cd/dvd/blue-ray disc
open the folder you had unziped
drag the config.cdi folder over to burn
drag the cd-info.cdi folder
drag the becker folder over
In the title change the name to RER_2.302 ( or what you are burning)
Hit next
Click change options
The only thing that should be checked is Verify written files /folders and finalize the cd.
Write speed set to the lowest setting. mine was 10x.
1 copy
ok
write cd

Hope you get it to work.

Make sure you sit in the truck with it running and don't shut it off until its done. Even when you think its done its not until it asks you again to install the same ver . RER_2.302 to RER_2.302 then it no and eject the cd. You can use the cd for your other truck to.

Thanks, I'll give it another shot today. I may get a friend of mine who is more "computer savvy" to help me with it.

A side note though, the nav has worked flawlessly since that day, so it appears to have been a glitch. However I do not trust it now to get me someplace and back so I'm still going to update it.
