Question UConnect problem - big Delay

On my Commander, whenever I make a call with either my BlackBerry or Razor using the "Dial" command, the Uconnect has a long delay before it connects. For example, I tell it to dial a number, the system responds with "dialing", there is a long silence, which is interupted by someone saying "hello, Hello" or the sound of someone hanging up. When the system is making the call, I do not hear it ringing and after someone answers it, there is a few seconds of delay before I can hear the person on the line. They have already said "hello" once or twice before I can hear them. Is it normal for the system to do this or am I it? I have talked to the dealer about it and all they have said is there are no updates available to the system.

Re: UConnect problem - big Delay

It could be the phone itself as they all change when bluetooth makes the headset connections. On mine there is a delay like that only if I dial from the phone. If I dial using the voice commands I hear it ringing and everything.

Ideally the phone should complete an audio connection first before dialing. With mine it seems that it will work correctly if the headset (in this case my Commander) is the one initiatiating the call. However if it is the phone is the one iniating the call it appears to complete the audio connection only after the call has been connected.

So in short, I do not think it is a problem with the system but instead with certain phone designs.
