Power window failure

I've searched and couldn't find an answer...If you can assist, Many thanks:

Issue- Bug hunt!!!
I recently had a rear passenger roll the window down and it failed to return up! Neither the driver switch or the rear door switch would roll up the window. (Snowy evening on way to holiday party...go figure). I removed window regulator and it works fine with direct 12v of current. The switch however show 14v for downward cycle and 0v for upward cycle. The driver window switch is repeating the rear door issue. I believe this issue to be part of the window lock? maybe? Any ideas. Thanks in advanced.
