Hopins wiring harness

Well today I was woken by a neighbor to tell me my truck was on fire. My Hopins trailer kit had caught on fire. The 12v main fuse never even popped. I have had nothing cut or melted before this day. I would stay away from this circuit kit if I was looking for one.

Well i actually got an update. The company called me back, they want my burned up unit andf pictures of damage along with estimate on fixing it. I may be getting them to cover it all.

I'd hope that they'd cover it all - that's a pretty serious issue.

Well got my damage estimate for $1488. Sent everything to them, now I play the waiting game to see if they follow through.

Based on my experience with these type of claims they will deny any responsibility and suggest you submit a claim to your insurance company. They may say it was somehow your fault for not installing correctly.
