Sunroof/liftgate switch pod: Is it backlit?

First post on a great forum. Hope this is in the right place and that this isn't a redundant question/known problem. I searched but didn't find anything.

Have an '08 Commander with two switch "pods" in the overhead console. One is for the Homelink buttons, and one is for the sunroof/lift gate. The Homelink buttons are backlit at night, but the sunroof/lift gate buttons are not. So here's my question: Is this by design or is this something I can fix?

Obviously it's an incredibly minor gripe, so if it's by design I can live with it, but if it's a lamp or LED or something I can replace then I'd like to. Just wanted to ask here first before I go prying off plastic trim only to find out it's a design issue.

Thanks in advance!

They are not lit. Do a forum search and you will find a thread(s) about this.
