Disabling the in-motion restrictions on NAV system...

Has anyone with the NAV unit tried this hack?

Suposedly you can disable the in-motion restrictions on the NAV unit. You have to have a NAVTECH DVD created after September of 2006 (Version AE). I am thinking about getting the most recent NAVTEQ DVD and trying it. In case anyone cares, you can get updated DVD's from NAVTEQ website here...

Very salty on the price though!

Re: Disabling the in-motion restrictions on NAV system...

I am totally illiterate when it comes to electronics. However I sure wish I could turn off the inability to program the GPS while moving. There are two things I dont like about this factory unit, compared to my STREET PILOT that I have on my TJ.
1. Cant program while moving (the streetpilot allows you to merely click to turn that off)
2. Doesnt show the STREET NUMBERS as you go along. I really miss that as if you are going to an office building or something rarely can you find the street number on the building, whereas the street pilot shows every number as you pass it. john
