Question about Mopar IPOD kits

Hi, I have a 06 Commander and was wanting to hook up my ipod. What is the difference in the Mopar # 10229299 and the Chrysler 82209617 other than the price?

Thanks

Re: Question about Mopar IPOD kits

One is the FM modulated kit....the other is the Can-B system.....Should get better sound from the latter in addition to controlling your iPod through your stereo

Re: Question about Mopar IPOD kits

I installed my VES this week and it has a connector plug that needs to plug into the back of the NAV/CD radio unit, does anyone know if I have to unplug the existing wire and leave it off or is there an adapter so that I can use both.

Currently the VES works but my Satelite no longer works.

Re: Question about Mopar IPOD kits

instead of the mopar adapter i would recommend this adapter from integrated solutions, as long as you don't have a VES it will work.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...QQcmdZViewItem

It allows you to control your ipod from the radio/steering wheel and from the actual ipod.

note: doesn't work with the single disk REF radio, there is a different adapter for that setup.

Re: Question about Mopar IPOD kits

I purchased the unit from them for the VES system so that I could use my iPod, The problem is it took the Satalite out of service when I installed it.

I need something to run: 6 disk CD, NAV, VES, Satalite & iPod

Re: Question about Mopar IPOD kits

Does anyone know if we can access the Mopar Tech Support online program? I need the wiring instructions for the VES (i did not purchase the kit so I did not receive wiring instructions), I need to know which pins to pull from the factory plug and where to place them in the VES plug.
