Mopar Remote Start Question....

Does the Remote Starter System sold by Mopar need to be flashed into the system by StarScan?

Yes, along with most everything else that plugs into the CANBUS system.

I installed my remote start and didn't have to do anything with Starscan. I followed the instructions to configure it, but that was about it.

Doesn't need to be flashed. Anyone can install it that has some mechanical ability.

It takes a few hours and the instructions are not for the Commander so you have to make a few minor adjustments but anyone can do it in an afternoon.
