'06 Nav Replacement Question

I am new to this forum and while I don't personally own a Jeep Commander, my Mother In Law does and I am trying to help her out. Her Commander is a 2006 Limited with the 5.7 and has the factory Nav unit which I think is the REC. The Nav unit has completely gone tits up and the only thing that works on the whole radio is the preset buttons and volume and it is stuck on AM radio. My question is, can we replace the Nav unit with just a standard Jeep radio out of an 06? She is on a limited budget and to replace the Nav unit with an aftermarket radio, it looks like it will cost in the ballpark of $150 to $160. It looks like I can get just a standard factory radio for half that on ebay. Just trying to see if a standard radio would be plug and play. Thanks

You would need replace her bezel for the one that is for the non nav radio, but i believe the harness is the same.
