aftermarket gps/nav/stereo question

so i'm about to pull the trigger on an 08 Overland model, but noticed it doesn't have the stock stereo/nav/gps. It has this...
Power Acoustik PDN-626B - GPS Navigation Car Stereo

Searching for this today online and found it. Roughly under $200, but my main question is, is this a red flag? Or something i need to look into further for replacing back to stock, or another alternative?
Haven't purchased the vehicle yet, but no records on carfax show any incidents or thefts. thoughts anyone?

I don't think it is a red flag. The OEM unit probably had a problem like the screen died or something. But if you replace the unit I would not replace it with the OEM unit. There are much better aftermarket units at a cheaper price.

If the rest of the vehicle checks out o.k. I wouldn't be concerned that the stock head unit has been replaced. Not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

does anyone have pictures of the final install? I found this unit for really really cheap, and am ready to pull the trigger on it. I also just wanted to know if any one has an idea of extra needed harnesses of fit kits to build up the mount around the unit?

I have a 2007 Commander with GPS and Backup camera. I went to tighten the alternator battery connection because I suspected it was loose (and it was) so I disconnected the battery to do so. After I tightened up and reconnected the batter, my screen on the head unit was lit up, but all scrambled looking. I could scan for stations (just couldn't see any) and it was playing fine, but no recognizable display. Yuk. Does this mean my head unit is bad? I have been trying to read all the posts that look relevant. If so, what after market head unit will work with the backup camera? I called Crutchfield and they said none of theirs listed as compatible with my factory backup camera.

Thanks.

For those who may be searching and find this, I did get my old unit working. I took it apart and removed the screen and the board it was attached to. Re-seated all of the connections and then put it back together. So far so good. It is working again.

That's good news, thanks for following up.

Keep us posted.

Just out of curiosity, did any of the connections seem obviously loose?

When you say you removed the screen, are you referring to the small screws on the top and side of the radio? Is this a simple operation to remove or is it more complicated like un-soldering connections? If these screens can be removed easily are there replacements available?
