2010 Commander with no receiver - how to get 4-way wiring

Hi Brothers, as the thread name implies, my 2010 commander has no receiver hitch.

I am about to order the Reese bolt-on hitch and now I need to understand what the best harness solution is for a simple 4-say trailer harness connection.

I am never going to use a 7-way

I thought a simple plug in "T" adapter would be sufficient

I read a lot of threads on this topic and started thinking:

- - do I really need a starscan to enable this?

- - has anyone actually bought a 4-way adapter and installed it successfully on their NON TRAILER TOW vehicle without a starscan mod?

- - care to share a link?

Thanks in advance

yes, i have a curt hitch on my non-tow package limited. goto etrailer.com and enter your vehicle info. they have an adapter that plugs in series with the factory taillight harness. that adapter will then have wiring that will support 4 way plugs.
i purchased a 4 to 7 way adapter and mounted under the bumper. i will run dedicated power and brake wiring in the future for a full 7 way experience. No trip to the dealer required.
