my Jeep looks to have a new filler neck and also a new gas cap. I don't think that this is the cause of my gremlins though

Then that P0456 is probably just an old stored DTC.

The "gremlin" of my doors randomly locking may have been somehow connected to my key fobs. I found out that two of my fobs stopped working, so after opening them up found out the part that hold the battery in place were loose. well one was completely off and the other was being held on with super glue. I cleaned them both up and desoldered the part and both are now working, so far the locks haven't acted up, fingers crossed.

I've seen where you turn the key to the ON position and then off 3 times, also I've seen 5 times, but still no DTC codes. What am I doing wrong??

Maybe I'll stop at an Autozone and see if they can do a scan, I think they will do it for free
Did you ever get the codes to come up using the key on-off trick?

When i hook up my low budger Harbor Freight tool, it gives me the choice of engine or transmission codes only.
Maybe some of the scanners only do these sections?
Interior and security systems might not be in the software?
