seat sensor calibration hack video- lights off but still safe?

This is a video about getting your passenger air bag light to go off. It's for a Chrysler 300, but the system looks the same:


The person is using an Autel scanner that has more features than mine, and costs around 300 dollars. The customer service at autel says it is a Maxidiag md808pro.
He gets all the sensors to the same value, and that turns off the lights.
I wonder about this. Could he be feeding the system a random value, and setting that as a baseline versus really calibrating it?
As much as I would like to get my airbag lights to go out, I want the system to fire off on the right values.

I saw a diagnostic tool specifically for calibrating the seat for less than $100 from Hong Kong but I lost the link.
