Rumors are, its going to be smaller than the JK and the Open Cab is gone because of very near changes in safety regs/laws. But, they have something in the works to still be a very open cab. People are guessing its going to be safety cage (sport bar, since technically its never been a roll cage) formed as part of the body, an integrated safety cage, that will be strong enough for safety regs/laws and still close to being as open like the old sport bar.
And its the NHTSA saying they won't give the Wrangler the convertible exemption anymore. Without the grandfathered exemption they've always had, the Wrangler will have to meet the same roof crush standards as every other car, and there is no way to do that with an open cab using a Sport Bar, well at least practically and affordably.
