Question Removing the clutch based Radiator fan. 4.7L

i have to replace the electric fan anyone know how to remove the pulley driven one?

You will need to either get a tool to hold the water pump pulley or just use your hand and then use a large wrench on the nut that sticks off the front of the pulley (attached to the fan) and just loosen the nut until the fan is free

when this be a special tool like at autozone? is left to lossen it or opposite?

the tool is "special" but its not a big deal. It is basically a bar with two tabs sticking out. I made my own out of a flat bar with two bolts through. The bolts fit into the holes on the pump pulley and help you hold it from turning. I cannot remember the turn direction loosens the fan but maybe someone else does. Also you can look at how the fan turns to figure out which way it goes....

ok thanks that wat i was assuming the holes were for. i appreciate the advice last question. the bolt will lossen the opposite direction of the fan?
