Problem with 4wd/suspension system

Hello! I am a new member and so glad that I found this forum .

I have an '07 commander, 23k miles, MINT condition with lots and lots of love and care put into it.

Last week, the 'Service 4wd System' alarm started to come on. I also noticed that when I put the truck in reverse, the suspension feels very jerky and shaky. I am in no way mechnically inclined, but I would like to have some idea of what this could be before taking it in next week. As a woman, we are taken advantage of too often by dealerships and mechanics. I would like to educate myself a bit so that they don't feel I'm totally clueless... (even if I am :-)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can you give the people here a few more details. What kind of 4x4 system do you have QT1,QT2 or QD2? Do you feel anything different at all going forward or while turning in parking lots. I'm not sure what it is but there is lots of knowledgeable people here but they might need to know the drive system.

With that TINY bit of info I believe a wheel speed sensor has failed.....and that is why the dash light is illuminated as well.

Shouldn't be too difficult for them to track down.
