Thermostat

Hey everyone, 1st post. Long time Jeep owner but fairly new to the Commanders.
I am going to change the antifreeze in the Commander. I would like to change the thermostat at the same time.
Looking at the top hose from the radiator it does not look like there is a housing for the thermostat.
The thermostat I got from Oriellys is just a thermostat, no housing.
Is this right?
If it is where is the thermostat?
Pictures would be great.
Jeep is a 06 Commander, 4.7L engine, auto transmission.

Make sure you purchase the proper coolant from the local dealer. You CANT use normal coolant that says "any make any model" that you would typically see at the local auto parts store. If you dont have access to the dealer for the proper coolant, some autoparts stores sell the special HOAT coolant that is needed.

Also, after filling the radiator, make sure you take out the plug located on casting where the upper radiator hose connects (dead center in picture below) and using a funnel fill coolant in the hole until it overflows out. If you dont do this there is a good chance that your going to experience overheating due to air pockets in the engine.
