Key Battery Replacement

Is it possible to replace the battery in the key without having to re-program it?

yes it is, I order a new case and changed the battery and it didn't need reprogramming.

Yes, all you have to do is pop off the back of the key with a small flat head screwdriver, and then remove the battery. The battery is a bit difficult to get out, I had to use some needle nose pliers to pull it out. It should say the model # on the back of the battery, I think it costs like 5$ for a two pack at kroger. Good Luck!
