A/c

Just wondering this morning while driving down the road. Is there a way to change the speed of the a/c blower? When it is on the min setting, it is still blowing really hard. Just a thought.

Which setting are you referring to? Do you have the Auto-A/C control?

I don't think I have auto. On the knob it goes left to right.... defrost-then w/lower air-then moves from top-bottom, etc.-then on the right is the recirculation settings.
For instance this morning it was in the 50's. I was still wearing shorts and flip-flops. Warmed my baby up, with the air off, it was a little bit too cool. With the air on(like the feet) just the lowest setting, it was just way too much. They need to make this thing flip-flop integrated.

It really shouldn't blow hard unless you have the auto air. With the auto air enabled you can choose between Low or High. High is designed for if you have passengers in the second row and need to push more air. With the auto air enabled, the low will blow hard until the vehicle is cooled down (or warmed up as it may be if heating).

... I feel the same. I never use the auto setting and always have it on Lo, which is still too fast. The best setting I found to make it comfy is setting the right button (where it blows) to the position that is directing more to the feet, than to the body. This mix is OK. Also, I use the fan in the back to make it blow where I do not feel it, but it cools or heats without blowing on me. Daimler Chrysler uses different settings (in the Mercedes I heard) for European and USA customers. Supposedly, Americans like it when they are blown on hard and Europeans like a gentle wind spread out all over. I am European ... so I thought it is only me ... but suspect some of you here would like it comming out of all holes as well, as that would spread the force of the wind and make it more gentle to live with

Blower Motor Issue (not the tape one)

Hey guys, I've been going through the posts and have not seen this issue come up yet. My blower motor and A/C only work on the high setting. It does not work on speeds 1, 2, or 3. I believe it is the resistor that has gone bad. Can anyone confirm that? If so where is the resisitor for the blower motor located? Thanks for any help with this. Hopefully its an easy fix as I don't want to lose my vehicle to the dealer for a day if I don't have to. Thanks again.

Perhaps it is that, but in my TJ that happens now and again and its the blower motor SWITCH. For a TJ costs about $10, I have no idea if same pertains to the Commander. john

I have the same problem. After a few visits to the shop, they tell me the the blower motor is pulling to much power and they need to replace it.

Just heard about this one the other day. The blower draws too many amps as Ubercommander said and it was burning out the switch by overheating it.
