Highway vibration, intermittent

Have had a bad vibration (throughout the vehicle) when usually starting to go uphill with light gas pedal pressure. Putting Jeep in neutral doesn't stop the shaking until I come to complete stop. No obvious signs of leaking or noises underneath. Differential bushings or front cv joint is my best guess.

Reminds me of my 2wd Comanche with a bad u joint under load. 105,000 miles, QD1 V6

Does the frequency of the vibration change proportionally with the speed of the vehicle? That would be something in the driveline or wheels/tires.

Do a visual inspection of the driveline, push/pull/twist see if you can find anything obviously wrong.

Highway vibration

The vibration comes on at speed above 25 to 50 mph and increases in intensity as speed increases. It could shake fillings out of your head if speed increases enough. As I said it is intermittent, but the frequency appears to be increasing. No obvious signs of anything loose underneath or low fluid level. Thanks.

Yea, that is weird, cause it sounds like drivetrain, wheels/tires, but that is NOT usually intermittent.

Like you were speculating, the best thing I can think of is U-Joint/CV Joint that intermittently binds up.

One thing to try, when it happens again, downshift the transmission instead, so that you're doing engine braking, reversing the torque going through the drivetrain. If that cures the problem for the moment, it is at least telling you something and narrowing down the possible cause. I would think if that works, its just another clue for a bad u-joint/cv joint.

Front driveshaft Quadratrac 1

Any harm in removing front driveshaft and driving in rwd until I get front CV joints replaced/repaired. 2007 Quadra trac 1 V6? Long term or short term.
